Vortrag: "Complement escape of cancer cells: Molecular mechanisms and strategies of intervention"
Sprecher: Prof. Dr. Michael Kirschfink, Institut für Immunologie, Universität Heidelberg
Wann: Donnerstag, 22. September 2016, 17:00 Uhr
Wo: Campus der Medizinischen Fakultät, Haus 10, Hörsaal Kinderklinik
Gastgeber: Prof. Dr. Monika Brunner-Weinzierl (OVGU, Abteilung für Experimentelle Pädiatrie und Neonatologie)
Weitere Informationen: Prof. Kirschfink's main research interests are:
* Analysis of molecular mechanisms employed by tumours as well as by pathogenic microorganisms to escape the immune system. Strategies are developed to interfere with tumour evasion mechanisms, aiming at improving cancer immunotherapy.
* Complement in inflammation (e.g. renal diseases and graft rejection, bioincompatibilty); development of therapeutic strategies to interfere with complement-mediated tissue destruction.
Im Rahmen der gemeinsamen Seminarreihe des Sonderforschungsbereiches 854 und des Else Kröner-Forschungskollegs Magdeburg laden wir Sie herzlich zu diesem Vortrag ein.
